China(Qinghai) International Carpet Exhibition has been held successfully for eight consecutive years from 2004 to 2011，
which has made the exhibition a new bridge to connect theinternational exchanges and cooperations of carpets trade.
Since the holding of the China(Qinghai) International Carpet Exhibition, it has fixed its position as special intern-
ational handmade carpet exhibition, and integrated a variety of best carpets both at home and abroad. It is now one of the renowned
handmade carpet exhibitions in the world that becomes a name card to the Qinghai area featured industry.
In 2010, The Ministry of Commerce turns to be one of the sponsors of the Exhibition, thus being further enhanced its level
and reputation.As compared with the first exhibition, the participation countries have been increased from around a dozen
at the beginning to more than thirty with the exhibitors from 220 to 400. The number of exhibitors and visitors have increased
three times with the trading transaction amounting by 6.3 times.
Looking into the future, China(Qinghai) International Carpet Exhibition will be updating its scale, content, innovation
with the increase of exhibitors, visitors and its influence in the world year by year.
The Chinese Tibetan Carpet Association is initiated by Qinghai and Tibet two provinces, and set up by the permission of the Department of Commerce and Bureau of Civil Administration. On July 14 2006, we held the member representative conference in Xining, passed the association regulations, and elected the director of the association. On November 20 of the same year， Bureau of Civil Administration examines and approves the registration of Chinese Tibetan Carpet Association.
Tibet carpet, which is also the famous kind in carpet industry in China, has the long history of more than 600 years. It is an antique style. In 1973, under the brand “China Tibet Carpet”, it entered the world market and gained a high reputation. Tibet carpet is featured by unique weaving technics, bright & hamonious colors, soft & fine carpet surface, perfect color fastness, good durability and designs with rich Tibetan Nationality flavor. All these make it have the high value of enjoyment.
Tibetan Plateau is the hometown of carpet, has the rich wool material. From the traditional handmade carpet of different historical period to the birth of machinemade carpet now, there are four kinds of carpet with different technics and patterns. They are traditional horse-back carpet, Tibetan carpet, modern handknotted carpet and machinemade carpet.
